One Month With Runner+It's been just about a month (and 45 road miles) since I start running with my new iPod Nike+ kit. So far, the system has exceeded my expectations. The Nano is incredibly light and is fairly easy to use when strapped to my wrist like a watch. As for the Nike hardware - it has worked flawlessly.

The system provides excellent feedback while running (time, distance and pace), but it really starts to get addictive when you upload the data and analyze the runs. I started off syncing the device with the default Nike+ website, but shortly after posting this blog entry I got an invitation to beta test a new website called Runner+.

The Nike+ web site is fine, but Runner+ is so much faster. The charting system is top-notch and allows me to look at my runs in countless interesting ways. The only features I find myself longing for are maps and some sort of widget to add to my website. Chris, the site developer, has been really responsive to suggestions and I'm sure these features will be added soon.
Perhaps the coolest feature of Runner+ is the social network. I can browse the growing member list (which currently includes two other Portlanders), add them as friends, check out member's "jog logs", join groups and take part in the forums.
I highly encourage any of you with Nike+ kits to join Runner+. I'm confident you will love it.
